"Singing for Jesus" best describes the life of Kansas City's own, Zenobia L. Smith A native of Ogden, Utah, Zenobia grew up in a very musically gifted family. She along with her brothers and sisters were taught to sing at a very early age by their mother, affectionately known Miss Ivy. Most of the Smith kids played keyboard and other musical instruments as well. During the summer months, the family toured churches in the southern region of the U.S. performing in musicals and talent shows. These early years spent performing with her family helped prepare Zenobia for the purpose God had for her life of spreading the Good News through song.

Over her career, she has performed alongside some of this era's gospel greats: Edwin Hawkins, Minister Daryl Coley and serving as a featured artist alongside Vanessa Bell Armstrong, The Williams Brother and Evangelist Shirley Caesar.

Through her obedience to the Holy Spirit and compassion for others, Zenobia has used her gift to uplift those in nursing homes and behind prison walls. Her travels have taken her as far away as Germany where she instructed a 200-voice choir performing in a concert to aid orphaned children in Sri Lanka. Never one to remain idle, Zenobia also does plus-size modeling, provides voice instruction, and facilitates musical workshops. She most recently added "actress" to her list of many talents, appearing in the stage play "Women ShopTalk While Real Men Wait."

Long-time friend, Minerva Warner says: "Zenobia Smith is an anointed woman of God and has been singing all of her life. When you are in her presence, you immediately feel the spirit of love and become aware that there is a knowing and a gift of discernment that leads her to minister to your needs. The sound of her voice fills the sanctuary and brings to the audience a command performance while her delivery in song is truly evidence of the Holy Spirit." Zenobia currently resides in Kansas City, Missouri and is currently completing work on her upcoming CD.
